I agree about them being idiots and that their handling of this incident has shown contempt for the general public and their customers. 

But I don&#039;t think it was a case of them not caring about fraud against their customers. They have said that in the event of any fraud taking place they would cover the cost. And it would hardly be good for their business if such a fraud did exist. This was down to incompetent management. That a bank had information like this unencrypted is pretty shocking. I doesn&#039;t inspire confidence, and since banks are founded on confidence and trust, this is something of an own goal.</description>
