Firefox
..is erratic these days. I keep having to restart, which is a pain. I’m gradually shifting to Safari but resent it. Setting up bookmarks again grrr.
Anyone else having trouble?
btw, this is weird. I searched for something in the Google dropdown included in Firefox, and then searched later for the same thing in Safari – which also uses Google as its top dropdown. I got different results! The same pages were returned but in a different order. What’s that about?

I have been using the latest version of Firefox for the last few weeks. It’s still in the testing phase, but I believe it will be released in the not too distant future. It’s cracker!! It’s well worth waiting for, as it has a lot of neat little changes. The biggest change though is the clarity. All images are much crisper and cleaner. Well worth waiting for!

Firefox is pretty good alright and has many useful add ons. As a blogger the best browser for you would surely be FLOCK http://www.flock.com/
Give it a try and I am sure you will like it. However by far the best browser around and now free of the adverts is OPERA, version 9.26 now available at
http://www.opera.com/
Still it is handy to have IE7 on the computer too as some sites work best with the IE browser
The two fastest are Flock and Opera which I think are really fantastic

I’m an opera convert from a year or so ago. I still use safari for the occasional website that doesn’t disply right under opera, but overall I find opera to be the best I’ve tried. I like that even if the unthinkable happens and the computer freezes or the browser shuts down unexpectedly, it remembers all the windows I had opened and takes me right back to where I was before the freeze etc. Top notch.

Opera is simply the best! And has lots of useful features, even more than firefox.

That’s all very weird, Sarah.
Are you on the latest stable release of Firefox (2.0.0.12)?
If you are going to make the switch, you export your Firefox bookmarks in HTML format (Bookmarks > Organise Bookmarks > File > Export) and import them into Safari. At least I expect Safari lets you import them – Opera and Konqueror do.
On the Google thing:-
First wild guess: Could the toolbar in Firefox be searching google.com while that in Opera searches google.ie or visa versa?
Second wild guess: If you were searching for something about “Firefox”, which is likely given your current problems, then getting different results is correct – the browser “tells” Google what it is and Google tailors the results accordingly. Check the address bar. You will see something like http://www.google.com/search?client=opera…. or http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox….

Well I guess it makes sense that a foxy lady would have a preference for something HOT [fire] and something sexy [fox]
Or is this sort of comment frowned upon?
