Letter of the day

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:35 am by Sarah

Madam, – I can’t decide what is harder to believe: the double standard of Gerry Adams calling for the British government to disclose the full truth on collusion when he refuses to tell the truth about the IRA’s own past, or Ian Paisley phoning the Japanese government to advise it that Ulster’s pigs aren’t British after all. – Yours, etc,

PAUL CALLAGHAN, Ashlawn, Leitir Ceanainn, Co Dún na nGall.

I think the sight of the Aer Lingus staff and Mannion joking around with Big Ian while Shannon got screwed adds to the sense of incredulity.

Northern Irish politics is a bit like when you are at a wedding and two ugly people are getting married – they deserve each other.

Must have been a poor day for letters if this got letter of the day. Fulsome praise is due to those two gentlemen for burying the hatchet and working together. If such a thing had happened in a foregin country we would have letters in the Times lauding the achievement but as it has happened here the begrudgers are immediately in action with their negative comment. Give peace a chance for once you guys.
