Longford vs Westmeath
Hurrah! Longford beat Westmeath. Hurrah hurrah hurrah.
Why my interest? Because Longford’s manager Luke Dempsey is my most excellent cousin (in fact, the spit of my brother Edward for anyone who knows him). But MOST particularly because those shits in Westmeath dumped him a few years ago and hired Mr Know it All Paidi O’Shea who dumped them sometime later.
So it was personal, which makes sports so much more exciting.
Now if ONLY Luke would run for FG somewhere….

Luke comes across as a very noble and decent man also. And with doubt a very good manager. Fair play.
I would suggest that’ll be plenty of local rivalry down Enfield way with the Meath/Kildare showdown this weekend, it being a border town

Election came too early – you’d have to wait until after we hammer Meath in the Leinster final
If you watched the interview after the match on the Sunday game, you would have seen a local FG councillor (and brother of the prospective FG TD) making a tit of himself gawping over Luke’s shoulder. Gobshite.
