The Jews and Arabs by the way are not historical enemies as both sides would have you believe. the Islam Empire (using Islam for Arab as the distinction is largely meaningless) was notable for its tolerance and to take Spain for example the Jews lived mostly very happily under the Moors and were then wiped out by the Christians when they retook the peninsula.. Due to Shari’s law Jews and Christians ran the banking in the Islamic Empire which they did from Morrocco to Turkey to Yemen for 100s of years without intereference. Jews were very senior advisers at various courts with no pressure to convert.

Dear oh dear Gerry, you really do need to do a bit of homework.
Under Sharia law, as mandated by the Koran, Jews and Christians vanquished in jihad will be left reasonably alone provided they accept the humiliating status of a dhimmi. This means second class citizenship with all kind of restrictions on what they can and cannot do, and the payment of jizya, a special tax for non-Muslims.
In essence, Islam requires that people in conquered lands be converted, killed or enslaved. Slavery was often liberally interpreted to mean dhimmitude, and you can understand why people preferred it to the other alternatives.
