Returning to Ireland after years in the UK, one thing I noticed here was that the financial services industry is still held in some exteem, even awe. That will change. In the UK banking, pensions etc. is considered a devious, underhand untrustworthy business that people are embaressed to admit to being in, preferring to say they are second-hand car dealers, or even estate agents.

Actually, the same goes for the police. Still considered a respectable profession here, a shortcut to being a social outcast in the UK.
