The libel issue is a fair one to address, but bloody hell, move on. It just shows you how defensive mainstream journalists are about blogging.

But he’s right about the problem posed. It’s only a matter of time before we get the first libel case (whether justified or not).

Hi Colm, yeah, he really overdid it, didn’t he? The libel issue is a fair one to address, but bloody hell, move on. It just shows you how defensive mainstream journalists are about blogging. When the fact is that people wouldn’t read blogs if they were getting enough out of their newspapers. I thought he could have addressed the impact on careers (good and bad). People got hired (like me) and fired, like others over their blogs. At least Damien was able to get in some info on companies trying to piggy back on blogging. That was interesting.

I felt Roger Greene kept emphasising the negatives and didn’t try and point out the positives that can be associated with blogging. Well done for trying to combat this Sarah.
