Antibiotics

Posted in Feminism, Sunday Times Columns at 7:29 pm by Sarah

Lots of posts today..sometimes the spirit just moves you.

Antibiotics get a bad press. I spent the weekend feverish and with a really bad sorethroat – like, difficulty swallowing sore throat. (not helped by the fact that I had to wait ONE HOUR for a bus on Friday night to go to HIS office party – all buses delayed due to Irish Ferries march. I had supported the protest till 8.08 when my 7.10 bus arrived. ANYWAY, this morning I coughed up the most disgusting blob of gunge I have ever seen in my life. We are not talking glorified spit here. This was huge and vile. By lunchtime I had my first pencillin tablet in me and was feeling better within an hour. They really work. Amazing things.
